An antique sampler from my personal collection that I have faithfully reproduced and charted for your stitching pleasure. I purchased the antique from a dealer who reportedly bought it from an estate in Connecticut. The sampler has an early sticker on it's backside that states the sampler is from Long Island, New York. This sampler is a prime example of early 19th century schoolgirl embroidery. The antique is worked in mostly silks on linen ground. I charted the sampler for use of hand dyed cotton flosses that my eye thought best represented the sampler in it's earlier days, before floss fading occurred. The sampler calls for a 30 count linen. Old Town Blend by R&R would be a good linen color choice. Stitch count 163 wide x 176 high. Size - 10 3/4" x 11 5/8".
A sampler honoring the needleworker! A petite and delicate sampler with tightly spaced small motifs, and meandering borders. Stitch count - 146 wide x 242 high. Size - 7 1/4" x 12".

Now reproduced for you to stitch, is this early 19th century sampler. Though undated, the type of linen used and style of stitch work would indicate the needlework dates around 1840's. Design is worked on 30 count Parchment linen over two threads. Stitch count - 137 wide x 169 high.
